Joshua M. Kimura
Partner | Trial Lawyer
Joshua M. Kimura is a founding partner of Kimura London & White LLP and a trial attorney who represents individuals and businesses in high-stakes civil litigation. Clients come to him when they are in trouble, and his focus is singular: accomplish their goals and see the matter through to resolution. His practice is defined by thorough preparation, strategic positioning, and a willingness to take cases to trial when necessary.
Mr. Kimura handles disputes from the ground up: investigating claims, managing discovery, litigating motions, and advancing cases through mediation, arbitration, or courtroom proceedings. He has served as lead trial counsel in approximately 10 jury trials and evidentiary hearings, with experience spanning trial strategy, depositions, PMK examinations, and dispositive motion practice.
His approach is practical and disciplined: build leverage early, prepare every case for trial, and give clients clarity on risk and opportunity at each stage. Unlike attorneys who avoid trial, Mr. Kimura works up every matter as if it will go to verdict, because full preparation is what earns respect from opposing counsel and strengthens a client's position at the negotiating table. When a dispute escalates, his role is to advocate forcefully while cooling the temperature, helping clients make clear headed, business driven decisions rather than reactive ones.
Before focusing his practice on complex business litigation, Mr. Kimura built his courtroom foundation as a high stakes personal injury trial lawyer representing clients in catastrophic injury and wrongful death matters. That early trial experience sharpened his command of jury strategy, damages presentation, and evidentiary advocacy, skills he now applies to sophisticated business disputes where the financial exposure is equally significant.
He represents clients across a range of complex disputes, including business litigation, contract and partnership breakdowns, and multi party tort actions involving contested liability and damages, with particular familiarity in construction, sales, and international business. Mr. Kimura has recovered millions on behalf of plaintiffs and successfully defended companies and individuals facing significant exposure.
In one matter, insurance carrier attorneys declared they would not pay a single dollar toward settlement of a multi million dollar real estate dispute; Mr. Kimura secured full payment of every dollar requested, plus attorneys' fees. In another, he obtained a multi million dollar verdict against business entities that had perpetrated fraud. Clients consistently say they value his transparency throughout the process and his commitment to seeing difficult problems through to resolution.
Since 2019, he has been recognized by Super Lawyers and maintains a 10.0 Avvo rating. His legal work and commentary have been featured in Forbes, Fortune, and the Daily Journal. Recognized by the Orange County Business Journal as a 2026 Top Litigator and Corporate Lawyer. In addition to his litigation practice, he serves as a mediator, helping parties resolve disputes efficiently when the circumstances allow.
